Hi, my name is Sam Spencer. I use he / him pronouns. I’m an iOS software engineer in Columbus, Ohio. And, since 2014, I have made applications for the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

You may have used Elementium, which I began developing during my undergrad where I studied Cellular and Molecular Biology. In 2020, I was published in Science magazine for my work with Dr. Jeremy Cohen on the impact of climate change on disease prevalence.

I also have a range of professional experience with multimedia; especially design, photo, and video. You can find some of my video and photo work here.

I currently work for CarMax, where I am helping build their flagship iPhone app and Point of Sale systems.

★ Need an iOS developer?

I am available for hire for freelance and contract work for iOS and iPadOS. If you are interested in working with me, you can learn more here.

I do most of my work in Xcode on my MacBook Pro. When I need to work outside of iOS projects, my go-to IDE is Nova by Panic. My git GUI of choice is Git Tower. When I’m designing I use Coolors for beautiful color palette rendering and Figma for lovely UI prototyping.
